I really thought this would be it... This would be the first canceled (or should I type postponed) cars and coffee event in the 10 months I have gone. Rain was coming down all week, it was cold, roads were wet... and earlier that week the State of Texas started using road salt for the first time in... well... ever. The C&C Facebook page stated the lot would just hold 300 cars this time, due, in part, to soggy grass where they usually park their overflow. I, or... rather... we... were all looking for that one word on that Facebook page... "Cancelled" due to rain.

My wife took off for work early that day, I could see rain flurries (you know, rain... that... is almost like a fine mist) accumulate on her car window. This C&C was not going to happen I thought. But it did. I got the mustang out of the garage and ventured out. No more rain flurries, but the roads where wet and the clouds appeared as if they were looking for an excuse to piss all over us.

I got there at my usual time, not expecting much. I drove to the lot I usually park at, and it was wide open. A very bad sign. No spectators means no cars. The two are usually very much related to each other. But... the video will show that I was wrong... dead wrong.

Moral of the story? Do not underestimate the resolve of the car enthusiast. Thanks to them this video could be made! Not a lot of vintage muscle, but that was to be expected. Hopefully we'll get lucky in February! Fingers crossed!

And you should come out. It is an awesome event if you like cars. And there are always some bikes that come out when the weather is good!

No problem man! I enjoy doing these, and knowing people can go back and see what they have missed (or, if they are featured in my video) is enough incentive for me to keep doing them!

That's not a bad turnout for such poor weather. But I still didn't bother going! I didn't think it would be that good. I also find it funny a lot supercars didn't show up.

I'm hoping next months show won't be to cold, because I'm done with this weather and I really want to go.

They are... And they where absent as they where last month. People start acting out a bit more without enforcement. Strange though, since that mustang crash event happened last month... I'd figure no one would want to end up on YouTube for all eternity.

I hear you on that. My hands where icicles when the battery of the camera ran out. But I was happy I went. Lots of cool folk came out, car enthusiasts don't want to be denied their monthly Saturday morning meet!
